The Walking Dead: Season Two is an ongoing episodic graphic adventure based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series and developed by Telltale Games. It is the sequel to The Walking Dead, with the first episode released digitally in December 2013, and a retail collector's DVD edition planned at the conclusion of the season. The game employs the same narrative structure as the first season, where player choice in one episode will have a permanent impact on future story elements. The player choices recorded in save files from the first season and the additional episode 400 Days carry over into the second season. Clementine, who was the player's companion during the first season, is the player-character in Season Two.

Following the events of the first season, Clementine was able to regroup with Omid and Christa, and Christa is now in the late months of the pregnancy that was revealed in Season One. However, while stopping at an abandoned service station to clean up, Omid is killed by a scavenger using Clementine's gun that she set down for a moment, before the scavenger is herself killed by Christa. Sixteen months later, Christa has apparently lost her child and her relationship with Clementine has become strained. When they are set on by scavengers, Clementine is separated from Christa and falls into a nearby river. After washing ashore, Clementine is surrounded by walkers but saved by a group of survivors staged at a nearby house, which include Luke, Pete, Nick, Alvin, Rebecca, Carlos and Sarah. The group distrusts Clementine at first, believing she might have been bitten, but she proves her worth and health to them.

The next day, Pete is lost to walkers when he, Nick, and Clementine go savaging for food, leaving Nick devastated. When Clementine and Sarah stay behind at the home while the others search out more food, a strange and distrustful man appears and snoops around the house. The group recognize the man as Carver who has been looking for their group, and they make plans to evacuate the next day. They approach a ski lodge, where Nick inadvertently shoots and kills a man stationed at a small house at the foot of the mountain. At the lodge, they discover another survivor group, including Walter, Sarita, and Kenny, who Clementine is overjoyed to see and later learns he managed to survive his apparent death. Luke's group agrees to stay the night at the lodge but remain distrustful of Walter's group, and Clementine senses a change in Kenny. During the evening, Bonnie (a character from 400 Days) appears and asks for food, and Walter gives her some of their extra supplies.

Luke discovers that the man Nick shot was Walter's partner, and Clementine works to defuse the situation. However, as a storm approaches, the lodge is set on by walkers brought by the noise of the wind generator. The party is saved by another group of survivors, but they are aghast when they see it is led by Carver and directed to the lodge by Bonnie. Carver takes them all hostage while they search for Rebecca, who had gone into hiding as she knows she is carrying Carver's child; in the ensuing chaos, Kenny kills one of Carver's men and he retaliates by killing Walter. To avoid further bloodshed, the rest give themselves up, and Carver prepares the group to move down to their camp the next day.
